Borawski named director of learning environment for undergraduate medical education

Kristy Borawski, MD, has been named Director of Learning Environment for Undergraduate Medical Education. In this new role, Borawski will manage all learning environment reporting for undergraduate medical education. She will assume her new role on June 1.


Kristy Borawski, MD, associate professor in the Department of Urology, has been named the Learning Environment Director for Undergraduate Medical Education. In this new role, Borawski will work with Alice Chuang, MD, to address concerns related to the learning environment in undergraduate medical education.

Additionally, Borawski will help build synergy across the School of Medicine to create a centralized space for training and solving the learning environment.

Borawski earned his medical degree at Albany Medical College and completed his urology residency at Duke University. Borawski stayed at Duke University to complete a fellowship in reconstructive urology, neuro-urology, and urodynamics. Her career at the UNC School of Medicine began in 2010 as an assistant professor for the Division of Urology. She is now an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Urology.

Borawski is also involved in a number of professional organizations and is an active member of the Academy of Educators from which she received the Craver Medical Student Teaching Award in 2021.
