Emirates News Agency – Dubai Cares improves learning environment at Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs

DUBAI, 28th April, 2022 (WAM) — In an effort to ensure a healthy learning environment for determined individuals, Dubai Cares, a civil society organization officially associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications, has announced its support to Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs by providing essential antibacterial furniture that will help improve student well-being and safety. The extensive furniture mix at Senses includes antibacterial flooring solutions, curtains and antimicrobial chairs and desks.

Medical grade antibacterial flooring has been installed in all classrooms and therapy rooms, along with antibacterial curtains, to reduce infection rates and eliminate any potential health risks.

In addition, around 100 antimicrobial chairs and desks, previously donated to Dubai Cares by Isku, a Finnish furniture manufacturer, have been directed to Senses, to create a cleaner, healthier and safer environment for students can study and grow.

Speaking about Dubai Cares’ support to Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs, Abdulla Ahmed Alshehhi, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Cares, said: “Determined people are often at greater risk of health issues. a safe environment is essential for their health and well-being, as well as for their academic performance. We are delighted to once again extend our support to Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs, which stems from our belief that determined children and young people should not be left behind.”

Dubai Cares is a member of the United Nations Department of Global Communications (UN DGC), as well as a non-governmental organization registered with IACAD, the regulatory body for charitable activities in Dubai. The UAE-based global philanthropic organization is authorized to raise funds through direct donations and fundraising campaigns, as well as handling all permit approvals with IACAD.

Volunteering is a powerful tool for Dubai Cares to engage people in tackling development challenges. Dubai Cares unites the entire UAE community through a wide range of volunteering and outreach initiatives related to its global mandate.
